A man has been arrested after he allegedly choked his girlfriend.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and the Ava Police responded to a report of a woman on Rodeo Lane in Ava with injuries to her face and neck.
She told law enforcement she had gotten out of a moving vehicle after her boyfriend, Todd Chance of Rogersville, had allegedly assaulted her and strangled her with a seatbelt and her purse.
She was taken to a Springfield hospital.
A search of Chance’s truck found a glass pipe that tested positive for meth and a seatbelt had been wiped clean.
Chance is being held in the Douglas County Jail.
