What We Know: Silver Dollar City has unveiled its next big attraction, and this one takes riders back to the Ozarks’ mining roots.
What It Means: Miner’s Mountain Express is a new family roller coaster scheduled to open in spring 2027.
The entire ride will last a little more than three minutes.
The coaster’s story is inspired by mining at what became Marvel Cave in the 1880s. Riders will board runaway mine cars and travel through a storyline involving rugged terrain, a flooded mine shaft and the search for a lost entrance to the cave.
Silver Dollar City says Miner’s Mountain Express will be the longest family coaster in the Midwest. Children as short as 39 inches will be able to ride when accompanied by a supervising companion.
What’s Next: The attraction will be located in a new section of the park called Daredevil Pass, connecting the areas around WildFire, PowderKeg and American Plunge.
Miner’s Mountain Express is part of Silver Dollar City’s $150 million expansion plan, which also includes a new resort scheduled to open in 2027.
