Springfield Police Arrest Shooting Suspect after Car Chase

A man from Springfield is in custody after police say he was a suspect in a shooting incident and then fled the scene.

Investigators say 19-year-old Kyle Ready was identified as a suspect after shots were fired along Missouri Avenue November 18.

When officers arrived at the scene, Ready got into his vehicle and drove away. A short pursuit followed before officers were able to apprehend him.

A loaded handgun was found in the vehicle at the time of his arrest.

Ready is charged with assault, armed criminal action and resisting arrest. He is currently being held in the Greene County Jail.
