The 78th Police Academy through the Springfield Police Department will feature 12 now recruits later this week.
Officials say the ceremony will take place Friday, July 26th at the East Sunshine Church of Christ beginning at 7:00pm.
The list of graduates includes nine men and three women.
Graduates will be honored after spending over 1,000 hours undergoing “intense law enforcement training” over the course of nearly four months.
SPD says once the graduation ceremony is complete, recruits will be paired with an FTO, or field-training officer, for an additional 600+ hours of training.
Once they complete the on-the-job training with the FTO, recruits will begin solo patrol duties.
