Springfield Police Searching for Suspect after Shots Fired Call and Stabbing along West Chestnut

Officers in Springfield are trying to find a person involved in an incident near a Casey’s along West Chestnut Expressway.

Investigators say they received a call at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a disturbance at the 2700 block of W. Chestnut, near the W. College Road intersection, that included a report of shots fired.

When police arrived, they found shell casings on the ground, and a victim with a stab wound to the stomach.

According to authorities, the victim refused medical care, and would not talk to police about what happened.

Officers say there is no immediate threat to the public. They are still searching for a person of interest in connection with the case.
