Stone County AR Deputy Shot In Line of Duty

A Stone County Arkansas deputy has been killed in the line of duty.

The Arkansas State Police says it happened Tuesday afternoon five miles north of Mountain View.

Deputy Justin Smith was shot while serving a warrant to 52-year-old Clifton Hefton for misdemeanor terroristic threatening.

Hefton was arrested and is in the Cleburn County Jail.
