Strong to Severe Thunderstorms in the Ozarks Friday Night

Hail up to size of quarters, damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour, and localized heavy rain will be possible Friday evening into the overnight hours in parts of southwest Missouri.

The National Weather Service says areas north of Springfield will have the greatest chance of seeing bad weather, with a lesser threat along the Missouri/Arkansas border.

We’ll keep you up to date with any watches and warnings on 93-3 and A-M 560 KWTO.

Before any storms hit, we’ll be dealing with a hot day in the Ozarks, with a Heat Advisory in effect from Noon to 8 p.m.

Temps will reach into the mid 90’s, with heat index readings of 100 to 110 across southwest Missouri.

Drink plenty of water and know the signs of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
