Two people are dead after a three-car crash on Highway 32 in Dent County

Highway Patrol troopers say the crash happened less than 10 miles east of Salem, when 21-year-old Austin Bramson attempted to pass a semi in his Chevy Aveo.

While attempting to pass the truck while going westbound, he swerved to avoid an oncoming car travelling eastbound.

Investigators say Bramson lost control of the vehicle, and crashed head-on with a Nissan Versa driven by 34-year-old Angela Petro.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Versa suffered serious injuries, and was airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis.

There have now been 31 fatalities in MSHP Troop I’s coverage area this year.
