UPDATE: Power Restoration Efforts in the Springfield Area

UPDATE: 12 p.m. Wednesday: Springfield City Utilities is reporting fewer than 150 electric customers remain without power. Since the storm impacted the C-U electric system, 99% of the reported outages have been resolved, with many of the remaining outages due to awaiting repairs to homes and service entry points. Crews continue working to restore electric service to all customers who can be reconnected.

UPDATE: As of 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Springfield City Utilities reports approximately 300 customers remain without electric service from Sunday night’s storms. Restoration will continue until all C-U electric customers who are able to receive electric service have been restored.

Springfield City Utilities and Nixa Utilities say they are making headway at restoring power to everyone who lost power during the weekend storm.

C-U Manager Joel Alexander says there were 950 customers without power at 8:45 PM Tuesday.

He said crews would continue working through the overnight hours.

Director of Communications for the City of Nixa, Drew Douglas, says the number of people in the Nixa city limits without power is now just in the dozens and not hundreds.
