While the west side of Springfield had little to no rain, parts of east Springfield had so much rain that vehicles were stranded in floodwaters late Sunday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service says upwards of five inches of rain fell in a short amount of time, with water rescues reported at Glenstone and Commercial and Jean and Packer Road.

Three vehicles were submerged in water under the bridge at Commercial and National, with three to four feet of water over Ker Road near Cracker Barrel.

There are no reports of injuries from the flooding in Springfield on Sunday.
