UPDATE: Springfield Mayor Ken McClure Delivers State of the City Address

UPDATE:

During Mayor Ken McClure’s State of the City Address Thursday morning, he urged residents to be more engaged in the community.

McClure, who has been the Mayor of Springfield since 2017, lauded the city’s resilience during the past two years, from the COVID-19 pandemic to divisive issues permeating across the country.

He says Springfield needs to move on past the division and come together for one common goal, the progress and advancement of the community.

McClure said, “We must move forward past the division we have seen, by uniting around the
common vision of our comprehensive plan – Forward SGF – and working together
to accomplish its goals.”

He also proposed goals, such as lowering the city’s crime and poverty rates and increase the number of quality jobs available in the community.

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure is set to deliver the annual State of the City Address at 7:30 Thursday morning at Evangel University’s Spence Chapel.

The address is part of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Springfield program.
