Woman from Springfield Arrested for Allegedly Shooting at Fiancé over Xbox

A woman from Springfield is in police custody after allegedly shooting at her fiancé over an Xbox gaming console.

Prosecutors have charged 38-year-old Amanda Pratt with felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Investigators say Pratt was attempting to end the relationship with her fiancé on February 5 when an argument ensued.

Court records show the fiancé reportedly owed her $2,500, which he refused to pay. She then attempted to take his Xbox, causing the two to struggle over the console.

Police say Pratt threw the Xbox to the ground, and then went for a handgun that was in a drawer nearby. She asked him to leave, at which point he refused and she fired a single shot above the fireplace near where her fiancé was standing.

Pratt is being held at the Greene County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
