Severe Weather Threat Mainly Southeast of Springfield Monday Afternoon

After a morning with heavy rain and thunder in the Ozarks, the precipitation is coming to an end from west to east across the area Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says the best chance for any severe thunderstorms will be in south central Missouri from West Plains on eastward.

A few of the storms may contain nickel size hail, wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, and locally heavy rain.

Much of southwest Missouri is under a “marginal,” or Level 1 risk for severe storms on Tuesday and Wednesday.
